VINES Internet Protocol
Move the mouse pointer to any protocol field and press the left mouse button.
VINES IP is a connectionless network protocol which enables network routing by means of network addresses. VIP provides datagram services.
VIP addresses are 48 bits in length and are devided into network number" (4 bytes) and subnetwork number" (2 bytes = host ID).
Standard IP (DoD TCP/IP) only uses 4-byte addresses with a host ID as a part of it.
