VARP PCI

VINES Routing Update Protocol

Move the mouse pointer to any protocol field and press the left mouse button.

VARP is an address resolution protocol. It is needed because the VINES internet protocol (VIP) uses logical station address (VIP addresses).

VIP addresses are assigned by the VINES server. This is always done in four phases when a VINES workstation starts network operation. These four phases use different VARP packet type IDs.
